out across this twisted stretch of highway
that's running east to west
the buildings of these dirty streets are filling up my mirror
until they fade a way
and green grass gives way to fields of space
and wheat as rolling hills give way to mountainsides
and all of this beauty that is surrounding me
I'm welcoming it inside
in my eyes, open wide this tapestry of destination feels my discontent
spread a cross this canvas of illuminated inspiration
I see your fingerprints
and the green grass gives way to magesty of color
as falling crowns give way to sheets of snow
and the tall trees are lonely
swaying in this winters tempest
that only goes to show...what we should know
the skyscape opens up with the reaching of these mountains
as if making their escape
and spreading out over them through vallies without water
a thirsty soul is crying out again
and the green grass has little time for setting down her roots
before the burning wind and sun take her away
and are we too just travelers here in flesh and bone and worry just waiting for the rain....to fall
